The match
Participants in Danish choreographer Mette Edvardsen’s project Time has fallen asleep in the afternoon sunshine were invited to memorize a book by heart and subsequently to recite it to a ‘reader’. One of the participants in this project inspired by Ray Bradbury’s novel Fahrenheit 451 was the writer and walker Bruno De Wachter, who wrote a wonderful essay on the experience of learning the Collected Poems of Hans Faverey by heart. The essay was published in Dutch in the review nY #20 in February of this year. My English translation of his essay is available on the website of nY here. You can find out more about Edvardsen’s project and forthcoming performances on Mette Edvardsen’s website.
